THE PARK IS OPEN!
Pam and Willis Van Zee, The developers of the North Pointe, dedicated several acres of ground just North of Destination Circle to the City of Grimes for use as a park. Over the last year, The City of Grimes and local businesses have partnered to add playground equipment to the site. Accessible from the walking path, the park is a great place to get out and meet your neighbors! Now that the snow is finally melting, get out and take a walk to the park. It’s a great opportunity to get some exercise and meet your neighbors.
Waterworks Park and Lions Park in Grimes also provide residents with two family oriented areas featuring picnic spots, shelter houses, softball fields, volleyball court, and soccer fields. Both parks also serve as quiet places for relaxing walks and family get-togethers.
The city is currently working with the cities of Urbandale and Johnston to develop an aquatic center.

Through a joint effort between the City of Grimes and the Dallas Center-Grimes schools, a multi-sport complex was developed to include soccer, baseball and softball fields, tennis courts, volley ball courts, walking and exercise trails.
